Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

Prep time 15 minutes

Bake time 10-12 minutes 

Yield 24 cookies

Ingredients

- ½ cup unsalted butter

- ½ cup brown sugar

- ¼ cup granulated sugar

- 1 large egg

- 1 tablespoon vanilla

- 1 ½ cup flour

- ½ teaspoon salt (optional)

- ½ teaspoon cinnamon 

- 1 teaspoon baking soda 

- 1 ½ cup old fashioned whole rolled oats (not instant or quick cook)

- 1 cup milk chocolate chips 

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line 2 large baking sheets with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl using an electric mixer combine butter in both sugars. Once light and creamy add in the egg and vanilla, set aside.

  3. In a separate bowl sift the flour, salt, cinnamon, and baking soda.

  4. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ones. Then add oats and chocolate chips.

  5. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until lightly brown.

  6. Let cool then enjoy!
